Description

This is a barn, likely dating to the 17th century or earlier, with alterations and extensions made in the mid to late 19th century. The barn is constructed with a timber frame and brick infill, alongside brick walls on a lias limestone rubble base. It has a plain tiled roof. The barn is four bays long, running north-south, and includes a wagon bay near the south gable end. This wagon bay has double doors on opposite sides. A dentilled eaves cornice and decorative diaper ventilation patterns are visible on the west, south, and east walls. The north gable end is timber framed and features four panels, from the sill to the wall-plate, with swept upper braces and a collar and tie-beam truss with a vertical strut.

Inside, part of the original timber frame is concealed behind brick walling. The roof features two tiers of trenched purlins, and the three intermediate collar and tie-beam trusses have an upper collar and raking struts. A 19th-century shelter shed is attached to the northwest side, and a two-storey wing abuts the northeast side, but these are not part of the listed structure.
