Barn. Circa mid C18. Weatherboarded timber-frame; partly exposed frame with brick infilling; walls partly rebuilt in flint and brick. Asbestos-clad roof with hipped and half-hipped ends. PLAN: 6-bay aisled barn with narrow end bays making a total of eight bays. EXTERIOR: South east side has exposed timber-framing with red brick infilling on low brick plinth and blocked weatherboarded cart-entrances. North west side and north east end weatherboarded. South west end partly rebuilt in brick and flint and with weatherboarding above. Later cart-entrances at ends. INTERIOR: Cut jowled arcade-posts with straight braces to the arcade-plates and tie-beams. Queen-strut and collar trusses and staggered tenoned purlins with short straight wind-braces. Roof complete with common-rafter couples. Wall-framing on north west side and at north east end comprises close-studding on a low brick plinth and on the south east side there is square-framing with brick infilling. A good example of an C18 aisled timber-framed barn.
