Description

The South Barn at Plesheybury is a barn dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is clad in weatherboarding, set on a brick plinth. The barn features a half-hipped roof that is covered with corrugated asbestos. There is a projecting cart entrance located on the north side. The structure consists of five bays and includes a midrail and diagonal braces in the wall frame. The roof has angled queen struts with through purlins and original rafters that do not have a ridgepiece. The frame is largely intact, except for the east end, where a full-height entrance was added in the 20th century to accommodate modern machinery.
