Description
The grotto to the west of Woodrow High House is an early 18th-century underground octagonal chamber located in a wooded dell. The walls are faced with knapped flints and decorated with pebbles arranged in chalice, circular, and diamond motifs. The vaulted roof features an oculus and arrow motif decoration. Inside, there is a fireplace and a pebble floor with an arrow pattern. Additionally, there are remains of a circular forecourt with sunken paths, and a brick vaulted chamber below.
