Description

The boundary wall and railings at The Lordship date from the 17th and 18th centuries. The continuous wall begins at the southwest corner of the stable block and features a stone-capped pier. Next to it, there is a low stone-capped wall topped with 18th-century wrought iron railings that have scrolling designs and finials at intervals, ending with another stone-capped pier. The wall continues as a 17th-century structure with flat buttresses at intervals, following the curve of the corner to Winding Hill. It also extends for part of the eastern boundary.
