Description
Fletcher's Homestall is a 16th-century house with a timber frame, consisting of three bays. The exterior is plastered, topped with an old red tile roof, and features a weatherboarded northern gable end with tile hanging on the first floor and a central brick stack. The house is two storeys high and has a four-window front. The entrance, which is located towards the south, has a flat-hooded door flanked by triple leaded casements with shutters. On the northern side, there is a canted early 19th-century bow sash window on the ground floor. The first floor has regular mullioned and transomed casements, and a Phoenix Assurance plaque is located in the center of the front. Inside, there is some 18th-century panelling and an 18th-century dogleg staircase at the rear center. A very large brick chimneystack is positioned towards the south. The building was formerly an inn, which included a parlour on the northern side.
