Description
Church End is a house, now divided into two homes, dating from the 16th century. It has a timber frame that is plastered with painted brick and weatherboarding. The roof is steep and covered with old tiles, featuring a half-hipped design and a central late Tudor stack with twin flues. The building has two storeys.
On the north side, there is a projecting cross wing that retains its original wavy edged bargeboard and has a tall old stack on its north wall. The south range includes two ground floor, four-light, mullioned, leaded casements, and two similar three-light casements on the first floor, all set within 17th-century frames. Inside, the house displays exposed framing, including large tension braces on the first floor front wall of the south end (No 1). There is also a later brick and weatherboarded extension on the north side.
