Description
The Old Windmill is a 17th-century inn, later converted into a house, located on the east side of Standon High Street. It was altered in the 18th century and subsequently. The building is timber-framed with roughcast rendering, with the upper portion of the south side weatherboarded. It has a steep red tile roof, hipped on the right and half-hipped on the left. A large central chimney is positioned in line with the front door. The two-storey building has three windows across its length. The upper windows are irregularly spaced, with flush two-light casements. The ground floor features three flat-topped canted bay windows with small panes of glass, and a panelled door is set within a plain doorcase featuring a flat hood supported by shaped brackets. Formerly known as The Windmill Inn.
