Description

This is a barn located at No 28, down the yard on the left in Standon, dating from the 18th century. The barn features a timber frame that is weatherboarded and has a slated roof. It consists of five bays and is a single-aisled structure facing north, with a central entrance leading into the nave and an aisle at the rear. The posts are unjowled and have curved braces connecting to the arcade plate and tie-beams. There is a late one-bay extension at the eastern end, which has a higher brick plinth. The barn is listed for its unusual design in this area.
