Description
Numbers 41 (Rosend Cottage) and 43 are two houses that were originally a single house from the 17th century. They were altered, divided, and refaced in the early 19th century. The building has a timber frame that is plastered and lined to resemble ashlar. The front is faced with white brick, featuring red brick in alternate courses as dressings. The roof has a steep front slope covered with old red tiles, while the rear slope has been raised and extended with slate over a 19th-century extension. There is a central chimney, and the plans of the houses are handed, with doors located away from the fireplaces. The building has two storeys, with each house featuring a small recessed sash window on the upper floor. Number 43 has a similar window on the ground floor, while number 41 includes a small canted bay window with sashes, set in a wider opening. The doors are boarded.
