Description

Little Blakesware is a farmhouse dating to approximately 1800, with a later extension built to the rear in 1982. It is constructed of grey brick, painted white. The roof is slate, with a plastered soffit beneath a wide eaves overhang, and features a central chimney. The house is a two-storey Regency building raised on a plinth, with four steps leading to the front door on the west side. A secondary front is present with a pedimented and pilastered brick porch facing the south yard. The corners are emphasised by clasping pilasters, and the facade features plinths, a floor band, and a deep plain band at the eaves. The west and south fronts are symmetrical, each with three windows. These windows are recessed sash windows with 8/8 panes and flat gauged arches. The central door on the west side is recessed within a round arched opening flanked by quarter-columns and topped with a traceried fanlight. Inside, a staircase is notable for its ironwork balusters.
