Description

The Grange is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century, which was refronted in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of brick and stucco, which has been colourwashed, and features hipped pantile and gabled slate roofs. The building has a plinth, a first-floor band, a cornice, and a coped parapet. It stands two storeys high with three bays, comprising a square main block and a rear wing.

The west front, which was modified in the mid-19th century, features a recessed central bay with a Doric columned porch and entablature, containing a half-glazed door with an overlight. This is flanked by two round-cornered, full-height bay windows, each with a single plain sash. Above these, there are three plain sashes, with the central sash being smaller. All sashes are adorned with moulded architraves.

On the south side, there is a 19th-century flat-roofed addition with rounded corners on the left, along with a 20th-century French window and a lean-to glazed porch. To the left of this porch is a plain sash, and above it, to the right, is a casement. The two-storey rear wing has three bays and features a stable door on the right, flanked by single casements, all with segmental heads. Beyond this, there is another casement and a Yorkshire sash. Above, there are two larger 19th-century cast iron casements with segmental heads. To the right, there is a single-storey stable with three bays, featuring a door on the left flanked by a casement with a segmental head, and another door on the right flanked by a Yorkshire sash.

The north side has an off-centre 20th-century lean-to porch with a plain tile roof, along with a single casement and door. To its right are three 19th-century casements with moulded architraves. Above, to the left, is a plain sash, and to the right, there are two casements with moulded architraves. The east gable features a pitch eye above.
