Description

The farm buildings at Holme View Farm consist of a stable with a pigeoncote above, a pigsty, and a barn, dating to the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick with hipped and gabled slate roofs, featuring stone hips and cogged, dentillated eaves. The buildings are arranged around a courtyard and are two stories high in places, spanning three bays wide by five bays deep.

The stable and pigeoncote, located to the east, are two stories high and two bays wide. The east-facing gable has a three-bay round-headed blind arcade, with two half-round barred openings above. The south gable features a single diamond breather and above that, a round-headed opening flanked by four tiers of shelves. The west side has a central round-headed stable door, flanked by single blocked half-round openings. The north gable has a double door, and a doorway with an elliptical head leading to the stables.

The stables, located to the north, are single-story and five bays wide. The south side has four doors with elliptical heads, and a blocked opening to the right. The north side has a door with an elliptical head, flanked by single slatted openings with round heads.

The pigsty, to the west, features a feeding hole and three doorways with elliptical heads.

The barn, to the west, is three bays wide and has central barn doors with elliptical heads, stone imposts and a keystone on both the east and west sides. These are flanked by single cross breathers, with four slit breathers above. The south end has a central cross breather, four slits, and an elliptical pitch eye above.

An open cartshed to the south features timber posts and a doorway with an elliptical head. A boundary wall with ramped ashlar coping and a square pier is also present. The buildings are included on the list solely for their group value.
