Description

No. 18 Stortford Road is a house that was once part of the former Three Tuns public house, dating from the 16th century or earlier. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a gabled roof covered in peg tiles. There is a small chimney stack located behind the ridge line towards the west end of the building. Each floor features two, three-light casement windows made of metal from the 20th century, along with an off-centre doorcase that has a hood supported by brackets, a moulded architrave, and a six-panel door. The rear of the house is gabled. Inside, the building reveals a heavy timber frame with chamfering and crosswing-like framing at the eastern end.
