Description
No. 34 Church Street is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is the end unit of a terrace-like group, constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior. The building has two storeys and features a hipped peg tile roof with a gable at the rear. The front facade includes a dentilled eaves cornice and a slightly bowed two-storey projection towards the north end, which contains a double-hung sash window with small panes on the first floor and a doorcase below, complete with a flat hood and pilasters. On the ground floor, there are two additional similar double-hung sash windows. The north wall has a substantial red brick chimney stack. Inside, some medieval timbers have been reused in the floors.
