Description
A pair of cottages and a shop, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, constructed with a timber frame and plastered walls, topped with a gabled peg tile roof and gable end stacks. The two-storey buildings have, on the first floor, two canted bay windows made of old cast iron and timber, with leaded light casements, alongside a single 19th-century timber casement window. Number 5 features a similar canted bay window, a doorcase with a concave, tent-like roof supported by scroll brackets, and a six-panel door. In the centre of the pair is a complete 19th-century shopfront, featuring a square shop window with small panes set on a brick plinth, a door with margin glazed glass, a continuous flat roof extending over the window and door, and supported by a scroll bracket. Number 7 has a 2-light 19th-century casement window and a door. The roof has side purlins, and simple iron railings are positioned in front of the residential portions of the buildings.
