Description
No. 8 and 10 Church Street are a pair of identical semi-detached cottages dating from the 17th or 18th century. They feature timber fronting and plastered walls, topped with a hipped peg tile roof and two ridge-line stacks. Each cottage has one window on each floor; the upper windows are 19th-century two-light small pane casements. On the ground floor, there is one similar window with a single horizontal glazing bar and a 20th-century casement. The front doors are each adorned with simple hoods supported by scroll brackets, and one door is an early 19th-century vertical battened design with a top cover timber featuring a series of arch-shaped scallops.
