Description
No. 2 King's Head Street is a house dating from the late 17th century. It has a timber frame that is rendered and features a gabled asymmetrical roof covered with clay plain tiles. The building stands three storeys tall, with a recessed ground floor that may have originally been jettied. The front facade includes two double-hung sash windows with small panes on each floor, while the second-floor windows are flush with moulded surrounds. There is a central early 19th-century door with four panes and moulded frames. A stack is located on the southeast gable, which also has a lean-to porch. Inside, the house has a two-bay timber frame with chamfered spine beams and bridging joists that feature barred lamb's tongue stops. The staircase is a tight winder design.
