Description
No. 28 Main Road is a house dating from the late 17th century. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick and an imitation slate roof, which has replaced the original thatch. The roof is hipped to the south and includes a rebuilt stack on the east side. The house is two storeys high and displays exposed square framing with some angle braces.
On the north gable end, there is a triple casement window on the ground floor, along with weatherboarding in the gable. The east side has painted brick on the left and timber framing on the right, with a pair of casement windows on the first floor and a lean-to addition on the ground floor that includes a door. The west side shows exposed timber framing, with two pairs of casement windows on the first floor, a 20th-century glazed lean-to in the centre, a casement pair to the right, and a single casement window to the left.
