Description
The Anchorage and Wayside is a house, now divided into two, dated 1739, possibly incorporating an earlier structure. It is rendered to resemble slates and features a ridge stack and a stack at the north end of the main range, with a cross wing at the south end. The building has two storeys and an attic. The cross wing projects and displays a plaque indicating its 1739 date. It has two upper casement windows and a ground floor canted bay window from the 19th century, which has four panes on each side and a tiled roof that extends over the door to the right. The main range contains two pairs of casement windows on the upper floor, a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor, a door set in a rendered porch, and paired 12-pane sash windows. The structure also features a chamfered timber wall-plate.
