GV II

House. Early C19. Timber-framed with red Flemish-bond brick front with traces of tuck pointing. Black weatherboarded NW gable, rendered rear elevation and black clay pantile gabled roof behind plain parapet with stone coping. 2 storeys with tall stack through centre of front roof slope. First floor has 2 flush square double-hung sash windows with 2 vertical glazing bars. Upper part of elevation including parapet and window arches rebuilt. Ground floor is part-rendered with 2 similar windows and rubbed brick slightly arched heads. Entrance with semicircular-arched brick hood on painted timber imposts. Door with 4 raised-and-fielded panels over 2 flush panels. Similar arched opening to yard passage with door with vertical ventilator slots. INTERIOR: north-west part of ground floor has simple pine panelling, spine beam exposed and small elm joists over. Central fireplace with mantel beam. Stairs reused and replaced with ladder stair in front of stack with good pine door.
