Description

The building at 47 and 47A King's Head Street is a house, now divided into two dwellings, dating from the 18th century. It comprises two parallel ranges, one with a two-storey and attic arrangement and the other with three storeys and an attic. The front range is rendered brick and the rear range is of brick, both with clay pantile roofs and parapeted gables.

The front range has two hipped dormers and two 20th-century double-hung sash windows with small panes, set on the first floor, either side of a central blind window recess. On the ground floor, two similar windows flank a recessed doorway, which features panelled reveals, a broad moulded architrave, and a six-panel door. Gable end stacks are present on the front range.

The interior includes a staircase with a Chinese Chippendale balustrade and elliptical-headed recesses forming recesses either side of a fireplace.
