Description
Ravens is a house with origins dating back to the 15th or 16th century, located on Maypole Road in Langford. It has undergone later additions and alterations, including restorations around 1977. The building features a timber frame with parget plaster and a red plain tiled roof, which has two gabled dormers. There is a right crosswing outshot to the left, also with a gabled dormer on its return. At the rear right, there is a red brick chimney stack with two octagonal shafts. The house has two storeys and attics, with a window arrangement of three groups, each containing two, three, or four light leaded casements. The ground floor right window features a tiled gable with moulded mullions. A 20th-century gabled enclosed porch has a vertically boarded door, with the date "AD 1350" displayed above it. The interior is reputed to contain 17th-century panelling, which includes six arcaded panels with an enriched frieze and cornice.
