Description
Brook Farmhouse is a house with origins dating back to the 15th or 16th century, or possibly earlier, and incorporating later alterations and additions. It is constructed of timber framing, brick, and plaster, with red plain tiled roofs. The house originally comprised a hall house with gabled crosswings to the right and left. A red brick chimney stack projects from the right gable. The property has two storeys and features a window arrangement of 1:1:1, with vari-light leaded casements. Some windows retain 17th and 18th century metal frames, original hinges, and hooks. The crosswings have a band to each gable. A 20th-century porch with red tiled infill is located between the crosswings. The interior is said to contain some exposed timber framing, a doorway with a four-centred head, and cambered tie beams.
