Description
Gun Farmhouse, formerly known as the Shoulder of Mutton Inn, is a house that dates back to the 15th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, with some weatherboarded sections on the left side of the main range. The roof is covered with red plain tiles, and there is an external red brick chimney stack on the left. The building is designed in an L-shape, featuring a forward gabled crosswing on the right side. It has two storeys and attics, with one flat-headed dormer on the left.
The first floor has five windows, while the ground floor has four windows, a bay window in the gable, and one window on the left return of the gable. The windows are mainly small-paned vertically sliding sash windows set in moulded surrounds, including two 19th-century three-light windows on the ground floor. The left side has a two-light, two-panelled door, and the right side features a vertically boarded door, both sheltered by a flat canopy supported on brackets.
