Description

No. 8, Prince of Wales Road is an 18th-century cottage. It is timber-framed with parget plastering, and has a red plain tiled gambrel roof, along with right and left red brick chimney stacks. The cottage is single-storey with attics, featuring two grey slate catslide dormers. A single-storey red pantiled extension runs along the left-hand side. The original front has a 2:2 window range, with some windows featuring small panes and horizontal sliding sashes. The extension windows are of 3 lights with centre transoms. Internally, some timber framing is exposed, with through bracing to the walls. Brick fireplaces are present, including segmental arches and iron tie bars to the soffits.
