Description
Honywood Hall is a small school built around 1857. It is constructed of red brick and features a red plain tiled roof with bargeboards on the return gables. The building has gault brick angle pilasters and gault dressings on the left return porch. It is a single storey structure with three three-light windows, each having chamfered mullions and two transoms. The top panels of the windows are trefoiled, the center panel is square leaded, and the lower panels are plain glazed, all topped with a square label. The left return porch includes a dentilled cornice and a flat canopy, along with a plank and muntin door that has ornate iron hinges. Above the porch is a large stone panel featuring a central coat of arms and the motto "Omne Bonum Desurer." The top corners of the panel are inscribed with "W.P.H. 1857," which refers to W. Honywood of Marks Hall, Coggeshall, who donated £2,500 towards the restoration of the parish church.
