Description
Harvey's Farmhouse is a house with origins dating back to the 15th century or earlier, featuring later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tiled roof. The building has a lower range on the left and a hipped crosswing with a gablet on the right. There are external chimney stacks on the right and off-center left. The right crosswing is jettied over two stories, supported by curved jetty brackets. The central range is one story with attics and includes a gabled dormer, while the left range may be single story. The windows are mainly three-light diamond leaded casements, with the crosswing featuring three-light raised sidelights. A 20th-century gabled porch made of old timber is located to the left of the crosswing, and the main roof extends over a small extension on the left. There is a painted tusk tenon to the right of the gabled porch, and it is said to contain a door with old strap hinges. Access was not allowed during the time of re-survey. It is noted that the occupants of this building in 1796 are not yet known.
