Description
Fen Farmhouse is a house that is said to date back to the 15th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with red plain tiled roofs. The structure is a hall house with crosswings, featuring two external red brick chimney stacks on the left return of the north wing and a stack on the ridge of the higher level south range. The left crosswing jetties at first floor level, as do the central and right gables. The house has two storeys and attics, with three first floor windows, two ground floor windows, and one window in the right gable. The windows include cross transomed three-light leaded casements with pightle hinges. There is a plastered gabled porch situated between the two ground floor windows, a blocked round-headed doorway with lugs, and a four-panelled two-light door. The interior is said to contain original moulded beams and some roof construction.
