Description
Chase House is a house dating from the mid 18th century, with alterations made in the mid 19th century. It features pebble dash over brick and has a hipped plain tile roof with brick end stacks, one of which was rebuilt in the mid 20th century. The house has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, with a two-window range. The late 19th century four-panelled door is set within mid 18th century pedimented architecture that includes a pulvinated frieze. An elaborately carved wooden porch from the mid 19th century has a curved zinc roof. There are flat rendered arches over mid 19th century sixteen-pane sashes that are framed in moulded wood architraves. The mid 18th century moulded wooden eaves cornice adds to the architectural detail. Inside, the house features mid 19th century panelled doors and a cast-iron fireplace.
