Description
The Old House, now known as Badger Antiques, is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and has undergone later alterations and additions. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof. There is a red brick chimney stack on the left gabled crosswing and additional rear ranges. The structure has two storeys, with a single-storey shop front added in the 19th or 20th century on the right side.
On the left crosswing, there are small paned vertically sliding sash windows and a four-panelled two-light door with a moulded surround and a flat canopy supported by brackets. The shop front on the right features two windows with a fascia above and pilasters flanking the central doorway. Inside, notable features include an inglenook fireplace and stop-chamfered bridging joists, with one ceiling made of re-used moulded ceiling beams.
