Description

Spring Cottage is a timber-framed and plastered cottage dating to the 15th and 16th centuries, with later alterations and a rear extension. It has a thatched roof with a gabled dormer on the left end, and chimney stacks positioned off-centre to the right. The front features two 20th-century windows; the one on the left has four lights. A central, gabled 20th-century porch shelters a vertically boarded door. The internal timber frame appears complete, with halved arched braces to the walls. The cottage has stop-chamfered bridging joists to an inserted ceiling, two doorways with segmental heads—one to the rear, which is chamfered—and a restored inglenook fireplace.
