Description

The Thatch is a cottage dating from the early 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is timber framed and faced with 19th-century red brick, topped with a thatched roof. The building has red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides and is one storey high with attics. It features two eyebrow dormers and two vertically sliding sash windows with glazing bars. The central entrance has a 20th-century plank and muntin door. Inside, notable features include chamfered bridging joists, vertically boarded doors with ironmongery, and a restored inglenook fireplace. A deed dated 1633 is in the owner's possession.
