Description

Little Totham Hall is a house with origins dating back to the 15th century or earlier, with additions and alterations from the 16th century and later. The building is primarily timber framed and plastered, featuring a 16th-century brick range on the right and a 19th-century gabled wing that projects to the left. The roofs are covered with red plain tiles. The left rear range has a high roof level and is topped with a red brick chimney stack that has a diagonal shaft running to the ridge. There is also an attached diagonal shaft chimney to the left of the forward crosswing and a square red brick chimney stack at the front of the right range.

The house has a complex plan, with the original crosswings having been destroyed, along with part of the 16th-century addition, and various later additions have been made. It is two storeys high, with one window range for each section, except for the right side, which features a blocked original moulded three-light brick window with mullions. The left gable has vertically sliding sash windows with glazing bars, while other windows include three-light designs, some of which are leaded and some from the 17th century. Clasping pilasters are present at the right angles. A 20th-century glazed door with a moulded pediment and brick surround is located at the gable right return.
