Description
The White House, formerly known as Whitehorse Farmhouse, is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later alterations. It is constructed with a timber frame and has a weatherboarded exterior with plastered returns. The roof is covered with red plain tiles and features two gabled dormers. There are external red brick chimney stacks on the left side and off-center at the rear. The house has one storey and attics, with a four-window range consisting of small paned vertically sliding sashes, which have pentice boards above them, and small paned casements in the dormers. The central entrance features a four-panel, two-light door, with moulded capitals and bases supporting the pilasters, a frieze, and a flat canopy. Above the doorway is a date inscription that reads "The White Horse - 1598."
