Description

Moor's Farmhouse is likely the remnant of a larger building, probably dating from the 16th or 17th century or earlier. It is a timber-framed building with plastered walls. The roof is a red plain tiled gambrel roof, with two gabled dormers. A large external red brick chimney stack is located on the right side, featuring two diagonal shafts. The farmhouse is one storey with attics, featuring a two-window front with small-paned casement windows. To the right is a bay with a red tiled porch, sheltering a central door with a plank and muntin design. Behind the main structure are two in-line ranges and a crosswing, all with gambrel roofs. Inside, a restored inglenook fireplace has moulded jambs and a stop-chamfered mantel beam, alongside chamfered bridging joists; a heavy joist is present in the rear wing. Some walls have through bracing. C18 doors are fitted with wrought catches and hinges. The site is a moated one.
