Description

The Old Bakery is a house dating from the 15th or 16th century, with subsequent alterations. It is timber-framed and originally clad in red brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles. The original range has a crosswing to the left, which now features an 19th-century gable to its left, and a modern gable at the right end. The crosswing gable has an early 18th-century brick front, featuring three sash windows with panelled surrounds to the first floor, and three sash windows and a door below. The main range has four sash windows; the two outer ones have cambered heads and brick keys. The left-hand gable has two first-floor sash windows, and the right-hand gable also has sash windows. The interior contains a medieval hall with a base cruck truss. The right-hand gable replaces a 16th or 17th-century wing.
