Description
Gallants Farmhouse is a house with origins dating back to the 16th century or earlier, featuring later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame and has a facing of plastered red brick, topped with a grey slate roof. The building includes two red brick chimney stacks and two gabled dormers. It has one storey and attics, with a range of four windows that are three-light casements. A central gabled porch leads to a plank and muntin door. The structure consists of three bays plus one raised roof bay, with jowled storey posts and heavy chamfered bridging joists. Some flooring dates from the 17th century, while the doors and finishings are from the 18th century. The top plate features a halved and bridle scarf joint.
