Description

Bricks Farm Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red pantile roof and featuring two red brick chimney stacks. The cottage is one storey high with attics and has three gabled dormers that contain small paned casements. The front has a three-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes and a vertically boarded door with a slanting canopy. There is a 19th or 20th-century extension at the rear. Inside, much of the timber framing is exposed, showcasing stopped and chamfered beams, joists, braces, and halved and bridled top plate scarfs. Restoration work was ongoing at the time of the last survey.
