Description

Spring Cottage is a cottage dating from the mid-16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and plaster, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has one storey and attics, and it is four bays long. The cottage features a range of four windows, which include 17th-century and 20th-century casements, along with three gabled dormers that have casements. A central red brick chimney stack is present. At the north end, some guilloche pargetting can still be seen. Inside, the cottage showcases heavy timber framing with main posts that do not have jowls, through bracing, and red brick floors. Historical deeds for the property date back to 1542.
