Description

No. 6 Theydon Park Road is a cottage built around 1800, featuring two storeys. It is constructed of red brick with random grey headers on the sides and front, and has a rendered timber frame at the rear. The cottage has parapetted gables topped with a gambrel peg tile roof, and a large rear lean-to extension covered with a clay pantile roof over rendered walls. There are two small gable end stacks and three flat-topped dormers with tile-hung cheeks, each containing two-light casements with single horizontal glazing bars. The front facade consists of three bays of double-hung sash windows with segmental arched heads; the outer windows have small square panes, while the central first-floor window features two vertical glazing bars. The central door case is adorned with thin pilasters that support curved brackets and a flat hood. The door itself is recessed and topped with a rectangular fanlight.
