Description

No. 17 Horsegate is a cottage dating from around 1760. It is constructed of brick, with the front and rear walls rendered. The roof is tiled and features tumbled gable end parapets and end stacks. The cottage has a two-bay plan, is one storey high with an attic, and includes two dormers. There are two windows on either side of the doorway. At the rear, there is a kitchen wing added around 1930. Inside, the cottage retains original vertical panelling and a raised and fielded panelled door, with the back door also being original. The left-hand room has an inglenook hearth with an 18th-century mantel.
