Description

This is a cottage located at 9 Horsegate, built in 1743 with some early 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of gault brick in English bond, with some timber framing visible in the end wall. The roof has been raised and is now covered with red pantiles over thatch, featuring end stacks. The cottage is one storey with attics and has two eaves dormers with catslide roofs. There are two four-pane flush frame hung sashes on either side of a doorway set in a round-headed arch. Originally, a passageway on the right side provided access to an adjoining cottage, which has since been demolished. Inside, there is a stone panel dated 1743, though it has not been seen.
