Description
This is a late 17th-century cottage, with later 19th-century and mid-20th century renovations and restorations. Originally timber-framed, the building was rebuilt in brick and rendered. The steeply pitched roof is original but was raised in the 19th century. It is a three-bay lobby-entry plan, with three 19th-century dormers and three ground-floor windows, two of which are renewed canted bays. A doorway leads to the lobby entry. Internally, some of the late 17th-century rafters from the original roof remain in place. The chimney stack is framed, but the infill has been replaced with brick.
