Description
The Queen Victoria Public House is a public house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It features a timber frame and plastered exterior with gabled roofs covered in peg tiles. The building has an 'L' shape, consisting of both two-storey and one-storey sections, along with dormered attics and large rear extensions. The two-storey block, which runs north to south, is of particular interest as it contains a three-bay late medieval structure. This block has 20th-century casement windows with diamond leaded lights and a small single-storey porch with small panes along its side. The roof is topped with a stack of three angled chimneys. Inside, the building reveals a heavy timber frame with jowled posts and halved and bladed scarf joints, as well as an inglenook fireplace with a mantel beam and remnants of old window openings.
