Description
No. 26 High Street is a cottage dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and render, topped with a hipped plain tile roof that features a central brick ridge stack. The building stands two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-bay east elevation. This elevation includes a central doorway framed by a reeded, pilastered doorcase with a bracketed hood. The door itself is raised and fielded panelled, accompanied by a rectangular overlight. On either side of the doorway, there are two-light Yorkshire sash windows, and above, there are three similar windows, with the centre one being a dummy. To the left of the doorway, there is evidence of two earlier segment-headed windows.
