Description
Sheffield House is a house and warehouse, now functioning solely as a house, built in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick with a roof that is hidden behind parapets. The building features gable stacks, a chamfered plinth, plain bands at the first and second floors, and a moulded parapet with a decorative raised center part inscribed with the name "SHEFFIELD." The corners of the building have decorative ramped features with finials.
The west elevation consists of three bays and is three storeys high. The doorway is off-centre and has a channelled wedge lintel, leading to a 20th-century door with a rectangular overlight. To the right of the doorway is a glazing bar sash window under a channelled wedge lintel, with a similar window to the left and a narrower glazing bar sash of sixteen panes further left. Above, there are three similar windows and three smaller windows on the top floor. At the rear, there is an outshut that includes a first-floor doorway with a hoist. This building was originally constructed as a house, shop, and warehouse for a grocer named Sheffield.
