Description
Springfield House Farmhouse is a pair of cottages that have been converted into a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century and early 18th century. The building is constructed of red brick, rubblestone, and timber framing, topped with a plain tile roof featuring a brick stack at the northwest corner. It stands two storeys high and has a brick dentil band at the halfway point of the first-floor windows.
The west elevation consists of two bays, featuring an off-centre segment headed doorway with a 19th-century half-glazed door and a bracketed hood. To the right of the doorway is a blocked segment headed doorway. On either side of the main entrance are segment headed glazing bar sashes, each with five over ten panes. Above, there are two similar sashes under flat arches. The south gable end reveals remnants of exposed box framing and a queen post truss.
