Description

Spring House and attached garden wall, incorporating a water trough, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from rubble and ashlar sandstone. The rubblestone wall features plain chamfered copings and encloses the garden of No 42. To the left is the Spring House, which has a keyed round arch and a half dome behind it, supported by a brickwork lintel. The interior includes a square panel on the rear wall. Water from the spring flows into a trough that is set into a curved projection in the garden wall.
