Description

GREAT TEY EARLS COLNE ROAD 5214 Barn to east of Windells TL 82 NE 6/25 12.3.81 II 2. Late C17 barn, timber framed and black weatherboarded with gabled thatched roof. Five bays long with one midstrey facing west. The tie-beam arch-braces replaced by very big hanging-knees secured by forelock bolts. Roof with cambered collars and side purlins, thin angle ties to midstrey top-plates. No side-girts, primary wind bracing, re-used rafters of flat section. One bay was added to both east and west ends during the C18.
